What the directory lists
Grass Fed Directory is a directory of farms and ranches that raise beef, lamb, pork, poultry, eggs and dairy on pasture and sell directly to the public. New grass-fed farms are added daily.
Where listings come from
Every listing starts from a public source. Sources include the business's own website, an organizer's site, a government or extension page and reputable directories. Each listing links to its source, and all sources appear on the sources page.
Confidence ratings
Each listing gets a confidence rating of High, Medium or Low. High means the source is the business's own current site or an organizer's site. Medium means the source is a reputable directory or the business's own site with gaps. Low means the source is an old listing or an aggregator. Only High and Medium listings are published. Low listings stay hidden until they are confirmed.
Addresses
A farm's street address is shown when it is publicly available, such as a farm stand, u-pick field or market address the business publishes. A home address that the business has not made public is never shown.
Labels and certifications
Terms such as grass-fed, grass-finished, pasture-raised and organic, along with any certification, appear only when the farm's own source or an official source says so. Certifications are not shown as badges unless they are verified against the certifier's own public record.
Raw milk
Raw milk listings are held until the rules for raw milk sales in each state are verified.
Free listings, claims and corrections
Listings are free, and farms do not pay to appear. Farm owners can claim or correct a listing on the list your farm page. Anyone can report a problem. Every report is reviewed, and listings that cannot be confirmed are fixed or removed.
